
The Club are also introducing a new 'A' team from the start of the 2011-12 season.
29-01-2012 - The Reserves entertained fourth placed Cressing Yardley United and picked up all three points with a 5-2 win in Division Two. Aaron Mead scored a fine hat-trick with Gavin Holroyd scoring the other two. Shalford remain in sixth spot while United drop a place to fifth on goal difference.
The ‘A’ team drew 2-2 at home against fourth placed Great Notley in their Division Three fixture. The league’s top goalscorer Tristan Wolfenden gave the visitors the lead before Phil Goodwin scored to send the teams in level at 1-1 at the interval. Wolfenden scored his second of the game to put Great Notley 2-1 ahead 10 minutes in to the second half, Goodwin got his second of the game for Shalford as he equalised again to make it 2-2. The game could of gone either way with both sides having decent chances to win the game but in the end the points were shared.
22-01-2012 - The first team are through to the
semi-final of the Premier Division Cup after a 7-3 win at
Shalford against Rayne. Gavin Bensley fired in another
hat-trick with Jordan Miller, Sam Jones, Kane Morgan and
Nick Stackhouse also on the scoresheet. We now travel to
face Argos United for a place in the final.
The 'A' team bowed out of the Division Three Cup losing
4-3 after extra time against Witham Galacticos at
Wethersfield. The visitors had shot into a 2-0 lead but we
pulled it back to 2-2 with Adam Archer scoring twice.
Galacticos made it 3-2 before an own goal got us back in the
game at 3-3. The visitors winner came near the end of the
first period of added on time.
The Reserves didn't have a fixture this week.
15-01-2012 - The first team beat Western Arms 6-2
in the Premier Division at Shalford. Gav Bensley gave us a
1-0 half time lead. Bensley went on to complete his
hat-trick in the second half along with other goals from
Mitch Simmons, Andy Turner and Nick Stackhouse. Our visitors
pulled two goals back in the last ten minutes.
The Reserves picked up a great three points winning
1-0 away against Braintree Sporting in Division Two. Aaron
Mead with the all important goal with 10 minutes to go.
The 'A' team came back from 2-0 down at half time to win 7-2
away against Bell United in their Division Three fixture.
Danny Saffer scored a hat-trick, Phil Goodwin scored twice
with Trevor Chopping and gaffer Darren Pitt also on target.
08-01-2012 - The
first team won 12-2 at Shalford against Division One side
Frontline. Gavin Bensley scored four, Mitch Simmons, Sam
Jones and sub Jordan Miller all scored twice with Adam
French and Liam Blackburn completed the scoring. We played
some fantastic football and will look to continue it next
week when they take on Western Arms in the Premier Division.
The Reserves drew 0-0 as they travelled to Tiptree to take
on Tolleshunt Knight Eagles. In a game of few chances both
teams could of nicked the points but a fine save and the bar
denied both teams!
The 'A' Team remain second in Division Three after they won
6-1 at Wethersfield. Danny Saffer scored five and Phil
Goodwin the other to pick up a comfortable win against
Witham Galacticos.
